Join successful artist and passionate teacher, Marina Pook, in this one day workshop, as she shares with you her techniques and tips for working with the medium of coloured pencils.
Having honed her skills over more than 25 years as an artist and illustrator, Martina will teach you not only how to work effectively with coloured pencils, but also how to avoid the most common mistakes made in this medium.

What will I learn?

By the end of the day you will go home with not only three drawings demonstrating your new skills, but also a good understanding of:
• pencil brands and paper types
• tools and materials
• application and techniques, including burnishing, layering and drawing on coloured paper
• tricks and tips for working with this medium.

Who is this course suitable for?

Anyone who is learning to draw or has some basic drawing skills and would like to better understand the medium of coloured pencils.

What do I need to bring?

• Coloured Pencils – the more the better, but a minimum of 36 pencils (Derwent Studio / Faber Castell Polychromos / Faber Castel Albrecht Duerer)
• Good Sharpener with barrel or even better Carl Angel 5 Sharpener if you are likely to use coloured pencils frequently.
• Prismacolor or Derwent colourless Blender
• White Faber Castell Albrecht Duerer Pencil. (Must be this brand, as it is the strongest white available)
• Zest Medium.

What is provided?

• Coloured pastel paper
• Drawing paper
• Q-Tips
• Baby Oil / Baby Powder
• tea, coffee and biscuits (bring your own cup)
• a friendly, supportive and encouraging learning environment
