Cate’s artwork has a strong environmental focus concerned with waste behaviour and how we use and dispose of materials, which she challenges through strong personal inquiries. she moves between creative media in response to both her own journey and a broader social/conceptual framework, with skill, confidence and passion that is further enriched by with the innovation of found materials, gathered stories, discarded objects and forgotten memorabilia.
Cate is an Australian Artist living in Brisbane, Queensland and her artworks include painting, public artwork, mixed media object and small sculpture. She is a self-represented and has works sold into private collections in Australia, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom and United States.

In this workshop participants will be introduced to various styles, themes and techniques to create a mixed media work on paper.

Reference to relevant artists and examples from the artist work combined with demonstration and exposure to the range of available materials will lay the foundations for participants to create a collage artwork.

What will I learn?

Participants learn how to use and manipulate materials in new ways, to create a composition in low relief. The workshop will include how to use hand tools and cold attachment techniques.

Who is this workshop suitable for?

Adults; Youth; Upper middle.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring an apron, covered shoes, water bottle and lunch. We have a fridge available at the studio.
